It's none of their business that you have to learn to write. Let them think you were born that way.

                ~ Ernest Hemingway

We are a species that needs and wants to understand who we are. Sheep lice do not seem to share this longing, which is one reason why they write so little.

A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the other one.

Nothing, not love, not greed, not passion or hatred, is stronger than a writer's need to change another writer's copy.

14 May 2009 - OREM, UT -- Tristi Pinkston announces publication of her latest book, “Agent in Old Lace,” a contemporary romantic suspense that will make you laugh while keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Shannon Tanner believes she has it all. A loving family, a promising career, a boyfriend on the brink of proposing … but when she discovers a plot to bring her family to financial ruin, her life is endangered by someone she thought she could trust above all others. The FBI brings in Rick Holden, their best agent, to protect her—and he’ll stop at nothing to bring the case to a close.

Pinkston’s first three published novels are historical fiction. “Agent in Old Lace” marks Pinkston’s debut into the realm of the contemporary. “I was ready to try something new,” Pinkston says. “After spending countless hours researching my historical novels, I wanted to turn my hand to something that would require me to think differently. Writing ‘Agent in Old Lace’ proved to be a welcome change.”

A popular speaker, teacher, media reviewer, and editor, Pinkston has established a firm reader base with her books and expects her fans to enjoy her new release as well. “It’s different from what I’ve done in the past, but I don’t think my fans will have any trouble making the transition,” she says. “They’ve often encouraged me to put my humor into my writing, and now I’ve done it. It was good advice.”

In addition to keeping her finger on the pulse of the LDS market, Pinkston is the mother of four children, all of whom are taught at home. “I have a lot of facets,” she says. “I feel so blessed to be able to explore all of them.” She attributes the many things she’s able to do to the support of her husband, Matt. “If it weren’t for him, I couldn’t accomplish all my dreams,” she says. “He has really stepped up to the plate and supported me. And he’s very pleased about the release of this new novel. I’d say he’s one of my biggest fans.”
